Creamy and refreshing tropical mango turmeric smoothie recipe. With a delicious blend of mango, pineapple, coconut, and ground turmeric, this smoothie is perfect for cooling off on hot summer days.
It’s finally feeling like summer here! We had a little snow in the forecast this week, but it never actually came….which is totally fine by me. If you aren’t familiar with Minnesota winters, let me catch you up to speed – we never know when they are going to end, and the weather predictions are very rarely spot on.
Hopefully, you are now enjoying some summer-like weather too. If it’s not that time of year for you, or you could use some sunshine in a cup right about now, grab yourself some tropical fruits and make this Tropical Mango Turmeric Smoothie.
This smoothie is one of those, “sit outside by a pool and soak up the sunshine” smoothies. The mix of pineapple and mango really brightens it up and make me feel like I’m back at the beach (hello landlocked state…and for those are you who are thinking it, the lake beach is just not the same thing as the ocean beach).
This tropical mango turmeric smoothie gets its creamy, smooth texture from a mix of canned coconut milk and refrigerated coconut milk. A splash of lime juice also helps bring out the mango flavor and makes it more vibrant.
Then there’s the turmeric. This spice is known to be anti-inflammatory and has several other health benefits. Not to mention, I really love the vibrant yellow-orange color it brings to certain dishes. It’s wonderful in hot chocolate, lattes, and even Thai coconut shrimp.
When it comes to smoothies, I’ve really loved experimenting more lately and try to add different flavor and spice combinations to maximize the amount of fruits/veggies/healthy spices I get at one time. When you add ground turmeric to this tropical smoothie, you can barely taste it (if at all). So if you’re not a huge fan of the taste or it’s easily overpowering to you, try adding a little to a smoothie like this one! Hope you enjoy!
Tropical Mango Turmeric Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen mango
- 1 cup frozen pineapple
- ½ cup canned coconut milk (full fat will make a creamier smoothie)
- ¾ cup refrigerated coconut milk (like SO Delicious)
- 1 Tbsp lime juice
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 2-3 tsp honey, or to taste
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients to a high power blender (I use a Blendtec) and blend until smooth. The smoothie will be very thick, so you may need to use a toggle to blend completely or add a little extra coconut milk if needed
Notes
- Make sure you mix the coconut milk before measuring so that its smooth and combined (not separated).
