Mother’s Day is approaching fast! Whether you are planning a family breakfast, brunch, dinner, or just a small gathering, you shouldn’t need to worry about what gluten free recipes to make or what to bring.
Our Mother’s Day tradition is generally to have a dinner together with family. Sometimes we go out to a restaurant, and sometimes we stay in and cook. Either way, we opt for a relaxing family day to celebrate mom.
If you’re cooking for Mother’s Day, I’ve got a huge list of breakfast, dinner, and dessert recipes from some of my favorite gluten free bloggers around the web! But first, a few tips:
Appliances (& Gift Ideas!) for Gluten Free Mother’s Day Recipes
Food Processor – When I ask people what their favorite kitchen gadget is that they can’t live without, I usually hear food processor. Small food processors are great if you are blending small batches of sauces, spreads, nut butters, or even pie crust. For mixing/blending larger batches, or for grating or shredding large batches of fruits/veggies, a larger food processor works well! I have a Cuisinart in both styles and love them both.
Blender – Smaller blenders like the NutriBullet are really handy for sauces, dressings, and single/serve smoothies! It’s also easily portable! For larger and more powerful blenders, I absolutely love and recommend trying a Blendtec. Perfect for just about everything, from smoothies to soups to even making nut butter in about 3 minutes! It’s been the best blender I’ve tried yet.
Instant Pot – One of my all-time favorite kitchen appliances. Unlike a slow cooker that takes several hours to cook, the Instant pot is a great way to cook meals about 70% faster than regular cooking methods. You can cook a whole chicken in 30 minutes, and soup in about 10-15 minutes. You can even use it as a rice cooker, hard boil some eggs, steam veggies and potatoes, or use the sauté feature to brown meat before cooking in the same pot! It’s so versatile, it will become your new favorite kitchen gadget.
There’s a few different styles of the Instant Pot, so I’d recommend looking at one that suits the average amount of people you want to feed. The 3 quart 7-in-1 is great if you are just cooking for 1-2 people. I prefer the 6 quart 7-in-1, as it’s the perfect size to make leftovers or use to feed up to 6 people. If you’re having a large gathering, or you’re gifting someone who has a large family, try the 8 quart 10-in-1! All are great options, and some even have a few different settings, so check them all out and decide which features are right for you.
Slow Cooker – Making oatmeal for a crowd and want it to be ready for Mother’s Day brunch in the morning? Try using a slow cooker! You can use a digital one to set the time it starts and stops, and have it turn to warm when it’s done so that it’s all ready to go when everyone wakes up or comes over.
Griddle Pan and Waffle Maker – Perfect for breakfast or brunch recipes! Use a waffle maker to make Belgian waffles and create a waffle bar with everyone’s favorite toppings! A griddle pan is also great for making eggs and pancakes in large batches.
Casserole Dishes – Many of the recipes listed below are casseroles! Use a good casserole dish, or two, to cook for a crowd!
Muffin/Cupcake and Cake Pans – It’s always useful to have more than 1 muffin/cupcake pan when making large batches of baked goods. It’s also a great idea to have different size cake pans to fit the recipe you are making. For a fun breakfast/brunch idea, try making individual egg bake cups by using a muffin tin!
